2011: A Great Year of Reading
2011 was a great reading year for me and I've been meaning to put up a "summary" post at the end of the year so this one has been long overdue. Here are the books I've read and loved last year.
I'm particularly thrilled about getting to read Melina Marchetta, Marcus Zusak, Jasper Fforde and Patrick Ness. And I'm hoping I'll get to read more of their works this year.
Hope you get to read more Melina Marchetta and Megan Whalen Turner in 2012! :) Did you see Melina Marchetta's guest post for Queen's Thief Week? Also, I loved Ella Enchanted and read the rest of Gail Carson Levine's books because of it.
ReplyDeleteHi Chachic! Yes, I saw her guest post! She is so spot when she described Eugenides as a winger. And about how The Thief has more "verbal sparring" and less action..etc. Exactly how I would describe The Thief. Ella Enchanted is an awesome fairy tale retelling I'd love to read her other works. This year I tried Shannon Hale's Princess Academy and liked it. Although I'm not sure if its a retelling. I know Goose Girl is but I haven't had the chance to read that yet. :D
