Want Books: Anya's Ghost by Vera Brogsol
Want Books? is a weekly meme hosted by Chachic’s Book Nook and features released books that you want but you can’t have for some reason. It can be because it’s not available in your country, in your library or you don’t have the money for it right now.
Summary from Goodreads:
Anya could really use a friend. But her new BFF isn’t kidding about the “Forever” part . . .
Of all the things Anya expected to find at the bottom of an old well, a new friend was not one of them. Especially not a new friend who’s been dead for a century.
Falling down a well is bad enough, but Anya’s normal life might actually be worse. She’s embarrassed by her family, self-conscious about her body, and she’s pretty much given up on fitting in at school. A new friend—even a ghost—is just what she needs.
Or so she thinks.
Spooky, sardonic, and secretly sincere, Anya’s Ghost is a wonderfully entertaining debut from author/artist Vera Brosgol.
I am quite taken by the cover of this graphic novel, so I got curious about it. From the summary, I gather that it is a kind of YA Graphic Novel, something I haven't had a chance of reading before. Besides if Neil Gaiman calls it a "Masterpiece", I'm pretty sure it is.
I like the cleanliness of Vera Brogsol's illustrations. |
I added your post to the roundup! I really want to read this graphic novel as well, I've heard good things about it.

ReplyDeleteHi Chachic! I've read nothing but good things about it too. I'm drawn to it because it is more YA, a coming of age story of Anya. With the supernatural/horror stuff being less intense. :D
