Top Ten Series I'd Like To Start But Haven't Yet

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and The Bookish. More info HERE.
My list includes the series that I am most interested in starting but haven't yet due to any or all of the following reasons: There are quite a number of other series that I have already started on and thus must finish first before starting any new ones; Overflowing TBR as it is; Not enough cash; Not enough guts (horror genre); And or mood swings.

1. The Lion Hunters Series by Elizabeth Wein - I found out about this through Chachic of Chachic's Book Nook, whose taste in books I find closely similar to mine, so I have a feeling I'll adore this book just like most of the titles she recommends to me.

2. A Song of Fire and Ice Series by G.R.R. Martin - This was huge last year, with the HBO series starting all the buzz. So, I am hoping to jump into the bandwagon someday. Besides I haven't had any epic high fantasy since LOTR.

3. The Ender's Series by Orson Scott Card - They say, if you're a sci-fi newbie, go with this one. Plus, a movie adaptation is coming out soon.

4. Fablehaven Series by Brandon Mull - This series has a whole slew of mythical creatures and I'm sure it provides for one magical adventure.

5. Underland Chronicles by Suzanne Collins - I adore The Hunger Games, so I am curious to see how she does in this middle grade fantasy series of hers.

6. Iron Fey Series by Julie Kagawa - My sister loved this, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Never really read anything about fairies yet.

7. The Monstrumologist Series by Rick Yancey - I never had a horror read before or anything with zombies or ghosts in them. I have an overactive imagination that gets even worse at night when I close my eyes. But I still have this on my list because maybe, just maybe, one day, I might just feel brave enough to get a crack at it. Hee.

8. Newsflesh Trilogy by Mira Grant - This is a series that I have put off for so long because it's a zombie novel, and  therefore...See entry # 7. But they say it's really not that gory or scary but is more of a political story. Tina of One More Page has been raving (as in stark raving mad. haha.) about this for so long.

9. Tales from the Sinister City by F.E. Higgins - Recommended by Fats of Gathering Books. She said F.E. Higgins is like a female Neil Gaiman, an author whom I am a fan of.

10. Kate Daniels Series by Ilona Andrews - Also another series highly praised in the blogosphere. And it has a kick-ass female protagonist so I'm in.

How about you? Any series you'd like to start but haven't yet?

    1. Yay for Kate Daniels! Maybe she's another kick-ass female heroine to love along side Katsa, Katniss...etc.

Have you read all books in series # 2,3,6,7, and 8?! Now, I'm curious about Ash and Shaun!

Noooo! Dooon't! Lol! I think she has given Feed as a prize in more than one of her blog giveaways. (That's book pushing style number 1. Lol!) So it's well known that she loves it so much. :D

  4. This looks like a fun meme. Maybe I should join in next Tuesday. :) Although I'm not so keen on reading through a series (the most I can manage is a trilogy), if I have to make my own list of this, I'd like to start on #7 and #8 as well. :)

    1. Oh you should Lynai! Lists are fun! The topics are even laid out beforehand over at The Broke and The Bookish. For me, I also think the best number would really be 3 books in a series. It's more manageable that way, not too daunting. I think the most number of books I've read in a series would be Harry Potter, 7 books.

Yes to the creepy and scary #7 and #8! :)

    1. Thanks Bonnie! I am really afraid of the horror genre but everybody really loves The Monstrumologist that, I may just make an exception for it. Along with The Newsflesh trilogy. Soon I hope. Must be brave. Hee.

The Kate Daniels series on the other hand is more my type. After that, if I like it, maybe I'll go look into The Edge series from the same author. :D
